Surabaya (beritajatim.id) – In its 243rd graduation ceremony, the Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT, Ak, officially graduated 1,116 students from doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, and vocational programs. The event was held at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus.
In his address, Prof. Nasih highlighted the importance of pride for every graduate, reminding them that completing their studies is a significant achievement that should be valued.
“Not everyone has the opportunity to pursue higher education. This is a precious opportunity that should be embraced with pride,” stated Prof. Nasih.
A New Journey Begins
Prof. Nasih further emphasized that graduation is not the end of the journey but the beginning of a new chapter in life. “This graduation marks the start of a greater journey. You are not just leaving with a diploma but with the knowledge and skills gained during your time at UNAIR,” he explained. With these tools, Prof. Nasih believes UNAIR graduates are well-equipped to face challenges in the modern era.
“UNAIR believes that post-graduation, you will have even more opportunities to learn. Therefore, make the most of these opportunities,” he added, stressing the importance of maintaining a lifelong learning spirit, even after leaving the academic environment.
The esteemed professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business also urged the graduates to be ready to compete and develop relevant skills in the digital and globalized era. He emphasized that optimism reflects the confidence that UNAIR graduates are prepared to become innovative agents of change.
“I am confident that the knowledge imparted at UNAIR will be valuable for your continued learning and innovation in the future,” he said.
Optimism for the Future
Prof. Nasih also encouraged graduates to remain optimistic about their future. He noted that UNAIR’s international ranking has seen significant improvement, climbing to 308th globally, up from 345th. This achievement also solidifies UNAIR’s position as the fourth-best university in Indonesia.
“This ranking is evidence that UNAIR is increasingly recognized on the international stage. This accomplishment is also due to the dedication and collaboration of the academic community, and we hope that UNAIR graduates will also be highly regarded in the professional world,” he stated.
In conclusion, Prof. Nasih expressed his hope that graduates would carry the spirit of UNAIR with them in every step they take in the future and continue to uphold the good name of their beloved alma mater. (hdl)
